"OM Mare Shangri-la" is Karen Salicath Jamali’s first full vocal album and brings together her first nine songs as a singer-songwriter.

For more than a decade, Karen’s musical world was centered around dream-received piano compositions. Then, unexpectedly, the music began arriving with words. She returned to her acoustic guitar, began singing, and slowly these nine songs emerged.

The album explores love, consciousness, freedom, identity, the soul, time, eternity, and the fleeting experience of being human.

The title "OM Mare Shangri-la" can be translated as "The Cosmic Sound of the Ocean Paradise.”

For Karen, each part of the title carries a deeper meaning connected to her near-death experience in 2012.

"OM" represents the cosmic sound — the vibration and sound she experienced as fundamental to creation and to the structure of the universe.

"Mare", meaning sea or ocean, represents the vast cosmic ocean of consciousness from which Karen believes we all come and to which we remain deeply connected.

"Shangri-la"represents the lost paradise — a paradise humanity has forgotten while living within the temporary experiences of earthly life.

For Karen, this paradise is not simply a physical place. It is something we remember through love.

One of the deepest understandings she carried back from her near-death experience was that we are not truly separate and that "we only exist in love".

That understanding became the spiritual thread running through the album.

The recordings were shaped with great care by an international mastering team. "Maria Triana", acclaimed mastering engineer with decades of experience including many years at Sony Music, mastered four tracks. "Gary Gray", award-winning composer, producer, and engineer based in Los Angeles, mastered three tracks. "Austin Leeds" mastered "Seeds of God", and Karen Salicath Jamali mastered the closing track, "Falling Back in Eternity".

"OM Mare Shangri-la" is released with "worldwide distribution through Warner Music Group.
